Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Donut Holes

Ingredients

For the Donut Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–3 fresh strawberries, finely chopped

For Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Cheesecake Filling:
    • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Fold in finely chopped strawberries.
    • Transfer the filling to a piping bag or zip-top bag and refrigerate until needed.
  2. Prepare the Donut Dough:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
    • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a sticky dough forms.
    • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead just until smooth (do not overwork).
  3. Shape the Donut Holes:
    • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and set on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Fry the Donuts:
    • Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry a few balls at a time until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
    • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  5. Coat the Donuts:
    • While still warm, roll the donut holes in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Fill the Donuts:
    • Once cooled slightly, use a small knife or skewer to poke a hole in each donut hole.
    • Pipe the cheesecake mixture into the center of each donut hole until filled.
