- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 3 cups cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and a pinch of black pepper. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.
- Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sesame oil.
- Stir-fry the beef slices quickly until browned (about 2–3 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, onion, and carrots. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add shredded cabbage and cook for another 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Return the beef to the pan, then add the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
- Adjust seasoning with black pepper if needed.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
