Pioneer Woman–style Cheeseburger Pie recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Bisquick (or any baking mix)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:

  • Chopped pickles
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Mustard/ketchup for drizzling

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess fat. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the beef mixture into a greased 9-inch pie plate.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour this batter over the beef and cheese.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let sit for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Add your favorite burger toppings if desired and serve!
