INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup Bisquick (or any baking mix)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:
- Chopped pickles
- Sliced tomatoes
- Shredded lettuce
- Mustard/ketchup for drizzling
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess fat. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the beef mixture into a greased 9-inch pie plate.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
- In a bowl, whisk together the Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour this batter over the beef and cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let sit for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
- Add your favorite burger toppings if desired and serve!
