Easy 10-Minute Custard Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups milk (warm)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting, fresh fruit for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until frothy.
  2. Add warm milk and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. Sift in flour and salt, then stir until smooth.
  4. Add melted butter and mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch round or square baking dish.
  6. Cook on the stovetop over low-medium heat, covered, for about 8–10 minutes until set.
    (Alternatively, you can microwave for 6–8 minutes or bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes if you prefer.)
  7. Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and top with fruit if desired.
  8. Slice and enjoy warm or chilled!
