Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry
  • 8 slices of deli ham
  • 8 slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles (or cut puff pastry into 8 rectangles or triangles).
  3. (Optional) In a small bowl, mix Dijon mustard and honey. Spread a thin layer on each triangle.
  4. Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese onto each triangle, folding or trimming as needed to fit.
  5. Starting at the wide end, roll up each triangle into a croissant shape.
  6. Place croissants on the prepared baking sheet, point side down.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with water. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Let cool for a couple of minutes, then serve warm.
