Ingredients
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 8 slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles (or cut puff pastry into 8 rectangles or triangles).
- (Optional) In a small bowl, mix Dijon mustard and honey. Spread a thin layer on each triangle.
- Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese onto each triangle, folding or trimming as needed to fit.
- Starting at the wide end, roll up each triangle into a croissant shape.
- Place croissants on the prepared baking sheet, point side down.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg with water. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Let cool for a couple of minutes, then serve warm.
