Ingredients:
- 1 rack of baby back ribs
- ½ cup ancho chile powder
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup salt
- 2 tablespoons black pepper
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried chipotle pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Prepare Dry Rub: Mix ancho chile powder, sugars, salt, black pepper, cumin, mustard, cayenne, and chipotle pepper in a bowl.
- Season Ribs: Rub the dry mixture generously on both sides of the ribs. Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake the ribs for about 2½ hours until tender.
- Add Sauce: Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully open the foil. Brush barbecue sauce generously on both sides of the ribs.
- Finish Baking: Return the ribs to the oven (uncovered) and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Serve: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
