-
1 cup cream cheese, softened
-
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
-
4 large eggs
-
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (optional for extra texture)
-
¼ cup heavy cream
-
6 slices crispy bacon, chopped
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
-
Preheat oven:
Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch cake pan with butter or line with parchment paper. -
Prepare bacon:
Cook bacon until crispy, then chop into small pieces. Set aside. -
Mix butter and cream cheese:
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy. -
Add eggs and vanilla:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix well. -
Incorporate dry ingredients:
Sift in cocoa powder and salt, then fold gently until fully combined. -
Add cheese and bacon:
Fold in shredded cheese (if using) and chopped bacon evenly throughout the batter. -
Bake the cake:
Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs are okay). -
Cool and serve:
Let the cake cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Optional Topping
-
Sprinkle extra crispy bacon on top or drizzle with melted cream cheese for a “frosted” effect.
