Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf is the cozy

By Amna Malik

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt)
  • 2 medium apples, peeled & finely chopped

Cinnamon Swirl Mixture:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Mix in sour cream until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in chopped apples gently.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  7. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon swirl, then top with remaining batter. Sprinkle the rest of the swirl mixture on top.
  8. Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture through the batter.
  9. Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool before slicing. Enjoy warm with butter or drizzle of glaze if desired.

Would you like me to also add a quick glaze recipe (like a vanilla drizzle) to make it extra special?
